Here are the platforms Motion2D is currently known to run on, with links to platforms-specific notes, including any known bugs or incompatibilities:
There are no known problems with using Motion2D on production versions of Linux/x86. We do our Unix development mainly on Linux/x86 with the Gnu g++ 2.96, 3.2.x, 3.3.x or 3.4.x compiler.
There are no known problems with using Motion2D on SunOS. We compile Motion2D only with the Gnu g++ 2.7.2 compiler.
There are no known problems with using Motion2D on Solaris. We compile Motion2D either with the CC 5.1 compiler or with the Gnu g++ 2.95.3, 2.96, 3.0.4, 3.1 or 3.2 compiler.
There are no known problems with using Motion2D on Irix. We compile Motion2D either with Gnu g++ 2.95.2, or with CC 7.3.3.3m.
There are no known problems with using Motion2D on Windows 95, 98, NT, 2000 and Me.
Under Windows platforms, Motion2D can be either compiled using Cygwin or with Microsoft Visual C++.
Cygwin is a UNIX environment, developed by Red Hat, for Windows. After installing Cygwin follow the installation steps for Unix platforms.
If you want to compile Motion2D using Microsoft Visual C++, use the Visual Studio project (.dsp) file provided in the windows directory (only in Motion2D Professional Edition).
