Since its creation in 2010, the I2BC sequencing facility provides the scientific community, whether academic or industrial, with services and support in the domain of high throughput sequencing and its applications in functional genomics and transcriptomics. Furthermore, this activity goes hand in hand with innovative aspects, with the goal to provide services following the latest technologies, e.g. single cell and long read sequencing. Long read sequencing with nanopore technology (ONT) has proven to be a valuable resource for DNA sequencing, and in addition allows to sequence RNA molecules directly (without cDNA intermediate), giving access to a new research domain focusing on RNA modifications. Some "technological" tests and collaboration projects around the detection of modifications will be presented, with an emphasis on the 5mC modification (DNA) and Ψ modification (RNA).
