The Euro-TM COST action and INRIA Rennes Bretagne Atlantique are organizing a joint school on Distributed Systems and Transactional Memory. This winter school will take place in the french Alps, in La Plagne 1800 (“Residence Maeva Plagne Lauze”), from March 17th to March 22th 2013.

This winter school will feature a series of talks by renowned researchers in hot topics in distributed computing and transactional memory, from both a theoretical and a practical perspective.

  • Carlo Ghezzi (Politecnico di Milano)
  • Christos Kozyrakis (Stanford University)

PhD students will have the opportunity to get feedback on their work. Students are invited to submit a 1-page abstract motivating the main research challenge they are addressing and stating the approach being taken. A selection of proposals will be chosen for presentation. To submit an abstract, please send an email to vivien.quema@imag.fr and romano@inesc-id.pt.

The Euro-TM COST Action can provide grants to support participation of a limited number students. Students who intend to apply for financial support should send a 1 page application describing their research work and its relevance to the area of Transactional Memory, and the expected travel costs. Applications should be sent to eurotm@gsd.inesc-id.pt and mcouceiro@gsd.inesc-id.pt by *February 10*.
