Application of 3D Ultrasounds
in a Neurosurgical
Environment

opens a one year Inria postdoctoral position, starting end of 1998 or beginning
of 1999, on 3D Ultrasound
data processing.
Topic
Based on a current INRIA cooperative project on the development of advance tools for the use of 3D Ultrasound data in clinical environments (see http://www.irisa.fr/vista/Ultrason3D/welcome-eng.html), the proposed work aims at developing, in the context of neurosurgery, 3D reconstruction, 3D image processing and 3D registration procedures in order to make cooperate pre surgical planning information like MRI and functional imaging (e.g. MEG, fMRI) with per-operative data coming from a 3D ultrasound system. This work will be carried out in collaboration with the University Hospital of Rennes.
Codes should be developed in C or C++, some knowledge in OpenGL/OpenInventor
will be also appreciated.
Practical Information
Start: end of 98, beginning of 99 Application: now. Income level: around 11.000 French Francs per month.
