You need a Java Virtual Machine to run the Umlaut graphic user interface.
To get the Sun JRE, download at least the 1.3 release from the Java Soft Sun site
To get the IBM JRE for Linux, go to IBM's JDK version 1.3.0
To download the JDK for Linux , go to the Blackdown site
Umlaut Simulator needs the CADP tools. See the CADP web site.
Umlaut Simulator also needs the standard distribution of SmallEiffel that you can freely download from the LORIA site.
To install Umlaut SimulatorThen, the Umlaut package is installed in the directory umlautSimulator, which is created in the directory where you unpack the package.
- Download the zip file to the directory where you want to install Umlaut
- Unpack the file with any zip pack/unpack program
To run Umlaut Simulator, execute the batch program runSimulator4NT.bat

- Decompress the file :
bzip2 -d umlautSimulator.tar.bz2- Unpack the archive :
tar -xvf umlautSimulator.tar
To run Umlaut Simulator, execute the shell script runSimulator4solaris.sh on Solaris or runSimulator4linux.sh on Linux. More informations on how to run Umlaut are in the README and INSTALL files in your install directory.
